The Story Behind SOLID

Born from a long walk.

Paul Mazzapica Sr. was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and carries with him a plainspoken heart and a sincere desire to help others grow in their faith.

Raised Catholic, Paul drifted from the faith for more than twenty years before his life took a deeper and more personal turn in 2010, when he was born again and began walking with Christ with renewed purpose and commitment.

He worships today at Countryside Christian Church, a non-denominational congregation in Clearwater, Florida — and his writing reflects that same broad welcome, speaking plainly to believers wherever they are on the journey.

This book grew out of more than ten years of leading small groups and walking alongside everyday believers as they sought to understand and live out their faith. Over the years, Paul noticed the same core topics coming up again and again — questions about spiritual maturity, daily obedience, perseverance, doubt, fear, and what it truly means to move from spiritual milk to solid food.

Paul's heart in writing SOLID is to make biblical truth accessible: clear, plain-English explanations that feel honest and grounded. His desire is to help believers see that truth in a way they can understand, apply, and live out in their daily lives.

Paul has been married to his wife, Jean, since 1984. Together, they have two children and have shared a life marked by faith, family, and commitment. He is deeply grateful for the leadership, teaching, and guidance of the pastors at Countryside Christian Church, a community that has shaped much of what you will find in these pages.

Paul's hope is that this book will encourage readers to keep growing, keep trusting God, and keep walking toward a stronger, more mature faith in Christ.

The Church isn't called to shallow faith. We're called to roots that hold — deep enough to weather any storm and bear lasting fruit.
